Project:Parker Intake Pump Station

                        MWD – Southern California

 Location:Parker, California

 Completed:April 2004

The cable tunnel at the Parker Pump Station was experiencing water intrusion at control joints in several locations. These areas had been treated on several occasions with alternate materials, but continued to leak and cause problems in the tunnel.

Jean’s Waterproofing (JWI), in conjunction with Sierra Waterproofing, was asked to use chemical grout injection to remedy the situation.  After careful preparation, mechanical packers were installed along the leaking areas. The two-component acrylate ester material was pumped into the joints using specially designed placement equipment.   After the injection treatment, the tunnels are dry and problem-free.
