As the World Trade Center Towers collapsed, the subway station beneath them was totally destroyed and the tunnels leading into and out of it were severely damaged.

The tunnels that lead to New Jersey beneath the Hudson River partially filled with water.

The first phase of rebuilding following the months of clean up, was to restore the subway station and its tunnels. Yonkers / Tully / Pegno (Y/T/P) of Yonkers, NY was in charge of this task.

As the tunnels were de-watered and work progressed, several areas were found to be leaking where none had been prior to 9/11. Some of these leaks interfered with the pouring of new concrete duct banks that were being installed in the tunnels, therefore the water infiltration had to be eliminated.

Together (JWI) and Y/T/P developed a joint venture where (JWI) would supply the supervisory expertise and equipment to direct and guide the Y/T/P personnel through the proper preparation and application of the resin injection system.

The project was a success and continues to be so.
